Some Photos From Some Time Down the Line

San Francisco
Shot from a ferry on a winter day
Our bridge. I recently found out that the name "Golden Gate" refers to the
space between Sausalito and Fort Point. People used to sail through
the Golden Gate into the SF Bay estuary, what used to
be the most productive estuary on the West Coast. It was
destructed rather quickly from a recent and sudden surge in civilization.
The San Francisco skyline. So ugly, so beautiful.
San Francisco was built on sand dunes. Were due for another large magnitude earthquake.
The foundation was never considered in the progression of SF. My advice
is to get water filters.
It's an evil place.
It can be a good place too.
BINARY IMAGES
Shot November 17 2022
Bay trees against a cloudy sky.
Bay leaves against a cloud.
An oak tree. I took this at my favoite bench.
I've been watching this oak tree die for years.
Photos from North Beach in Point Reyes
November 12th and 13th, 2022
Grace smiling. I've been excited about portraits beacause
they can capture who someone is at a certain point in their life;
Portraits can (if done right) tell the viewer a lot of information.
Here is her back. It was a great day.
Here she is again. So awesome. What a great person.
Zoom in on her face.
This crazy dune/hill. When I took this photo I was
thinking, "If I ever have an art exhibit I'll fill a whole
wall with this image"
Sunset lighting on beach grass.
Overexposed goodness. This reminds me of outer space.
Nighttime. Beachcomes walking home hidden in the photo.
Grace's portrait the next morning. Her new haircut.
November 5, 2022. Mill Valley off of Camino Alto
For those of you who aren't local to me, Camino Alto is a very cool place.
There used to be two main railroadsgoing through marin. A sort
of rivalry. When the Northwestern Pacific Railroad decided to stretch their
railroad to the point of Sausalito (previously Saucelito), Peter Donahue extended
his railway into the end of Tiburon, setting the town's pathas a railroad town.
Anyway, I was on a hike off of Camino Alto (above where the train used to run)
and took these photos.
Early rain in November this year. Misty-rain.
Warm houses. I finally have a fully equipped rain-hike outfit and this
was the first time I really wore it. Waterproof boots, pants, and jacket.
These houses seemed really warm from where I was.
I stumbled upon the Mill Valley Golf Course. I had heard about it for a long
time and it was a little shocking to just wind up at it.
BINARY IMAGES. Shot mid September '22 - mid October '22
A homeless man asleep in the Embarcadero Plaze in SF.
A different view of the same subject. I dislike the fountain.
Cargo ships under the Bay Bridge. I take the ferry four times per week.
I love being on the bay because different angles are more accesible but you don't have vertical freedom;
your vertical position is fixed.
I shot this on a beach north of Vancouver. I like how binary images have shadows define a body's shape.

Beautiful grace in the sunset...
And once again
Pictures like these don't come around too often. If you do something frequently enough little rewards pop up.
